AWT Wellness uses Bioflex Laser Therapy to treat injuries and chronic pain.

Bioflex Laser Therapy is a form of Low Intensity Laser Therapy (LiLT) that uses superluminous and laser diodes to irradiate diseased or traumatized tissue with red and infrared light. Cells absorb the energy from the light thus altering their metabolic rate, resulting in changes in physiological reactions, leading to the restoration of normal cell structure and function. The process is curative and therefore results in the elimination of symptoms including pain. In addition, it enhances the body’s immune system response and facilitates natural healing. The therapy is completely safe and has no adverse side effects.

The technology is designed and manufactured in Canada and is non-invasive, non-toxic, and currently used in 52 countries around the world. Bioflex Laser Therapy has been used for over 20 years, but amazingly it remains a well-kept secret.

Here are just some of the conditions that can be effectively treated using laser therapy:

  • Soft Tissue and Sports Injuries
    • Ligament/tendon/muscle tears
    • Knee dysfunction (Meniscal/ligamentous)
    • Fractures
  • Repetitive Stress Injuries
    • Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
    • Rotator Cuff Injuries
    • Epicondylitis
  • Inflammatory Conditions
    • Tendonitis (supraspinatus/achilles etc.)
    • Plantar Fasciitis
    • Rheumatoid Arthritis
  • Back Problems
    • Degenerative Osteoarthritis
    • Spinal Stenosis/Sciatica
    • Disc Herniation
    • Myofascitis
  • Others
    • Temporo-mandibular Joint
    • Dysfunction
    • Lymphedema
    • Gout
    • Fibromyalgia

The laser treatment protocol consists of two steps; the application of an array of superluminous diodes that emit red and infrared light for a preset period of time ranging from 20 – 50 minutes in duration, followed by the application of an infrared laser probe to target specific tissues and stimulate various acupuncture points. Normal treatment times are between 30 and 60 minutes.
